OMG BESTIES, LET'S TALK ABOUT DOGS!!! 🐶💕

Inspired by the iconic Niklas Vågstedt (aka @niklasva on GitHub) who KNEW we needed this post!

THE GOLDEN AGE OF ACCESSORY DOGS

Remember when dogs were not just pets, they were FASHION STATEMENTS?! OMG, I am not over it!

It all started with Paris Hilton and Tinkerbell - that tiny chihuahua lived in a PINK BEDAZZLED PURSE and had more outfits than I did. Tinkerbell was not just a dog, she was a LEGEND. A MOOD. An ERA.


And can we talk about how every celebrity had to have one? Britney had her dogs, Lindsay had her dogs, even *NSYNC had their furry friends! (Shoutout to Lance Bass and his pup - iconic!)

THE DOG TRENDS WE STAN

1. The Purse Dogs - Tiny dogs in tiny bags. If your dog could not fit in your Louis Vuitton, were you even somebody?

2. The Bedazzled Collars - Rhinestones, glitter, maybe even a little charm that said Diva or Princess. If it did not sparkle, it was not worth it.

3. The Matching Outfits - Yes, I had a juicy couture tracksuit. And YES, my dog had the matching bandana. Dont judge me.

4. The NSYNC Approved Pups - Fun fact: Justin Timberlake once said if NSYNC were to get a band dog, it would be a golden retriever named Harmony. BE STILL MY HEART!

MY PERSONAL DOG MEMORIES

Okay, so I did not have a purse dog (my mom said no to chihuahuas, rude), but I DID have the most amazing golden retriever named Brittany (yes, like our queen Britney Spears, obviously).

Brittany and I would watch NSYNC music videos on TRL (she preferred Bye Bye Bye, iconic taste), practice our dance moves, take polaroid pics with my Limited Too disposable camera, and share my Abercrombie and Fitch perfume (she smelled fabulous).


Rest in peace, Brittany. You were the original bestie.
