OMG, BESTIES!!! 💖 So like, I was literally thinking about my first computer today (a ~glorious~ hand-me-down Dell with Windows 98), and I just had to write about it. Here’s a trip down memory lane:

1. Dial-Up Internet 📞: The ~scream~ of the modem connecting? ICONIC. Also, the “You’ve Got Mail” voice? CHILLS. (And don’t even get me started on how long it took to download a single song on LimeWire. 😭)

2. AIM 💬: My ~whole~ social life happened here. Away messages were my art form. (RIP “BrB, eating a Pop-Tart.”)

3. Microsoft Paint 🎨: The ~original~ graphic design tool. I made masterpieces (and also a lot of weird stick-figure families).

4. CD-ROMs 💿: The ~fanciest~ way to install games. Also, the “Please insert Disk 2” message was the worst.

5. Floppy Disks 💾: The ~tiny~ squares that held almost no data. (But we pretended they were high-tech.)
